I don't know what is the issue but download speeds are really slow even on a 25 Mbps connection. I even tried with VPN so it doesn't seems that my ISP has any issues.

screenshot 20 Well but if you download two courses simultaneously then you will get the maximum speed. This is absolutely weird. Please fix it asap.

I am having the same issue... very slow downl;ad speed.. and sometimes it fails

I am using a third party downloader module. It looks like the issue is with the downloader. I am looking for a solution, I will probably try changing a few settings in the module, if it doesn't work, I would have to completely rewrite the download functionality.

UPDATE

I am working on implementing a new downloder module which uses curl. On my local repository I have integreated and tested this module successfully (I am getting good download speeds), but the issue is that Windows doesn't have curl installed by default. So I have to find some workaround.

If anyone (with curl installed) is interested in testing the new version for download speeds, let me know.

I am on windows and have curl installed so it can be called globally.

Willing to test if you want.

@ansonsiva Which OS do you use? I will be sending you two versions of Udeler, one with curl implementation and another with an alternate third party downloader. Let me know which one works best for you. So that I can decide accordingly which one to release.

@arogl Please share your email id, or contact me on my email address (find it from my github profile)

@ansonsiva @arogl I have sent you the new two version of Udeler. Now you have three total versions (including the current one) to test and compare. Please let me know which one gives you the best download speed.

I've tried all 3 version. I think the problem might be from the udemy. All three client went to full speed sometime and 10k/s sometime. Also I tried web client, same problem too...

ps:it seems that the command+m shortcut doesn't work.

@ansonsiva The varying speed is not the issue, it is about what download speed you get on average. If it drops to 10KB/s it should get up pretty quickly. But if it keeps to low speed for a long period even if your bandwidth is much higher, then we have to address the issue.

Most users complaint here about the slow speed, so there must be an issue with the current downloader. What are your thoughts on the current downloader?

The alternatives that I tried and sent to you for testing are not perfect either. The curl version requires the curl to be installed and the other version doesn't handle pause/resume very well. We have to stick with the current downloader for now until I find a better alternative.

@FaisalUmair I have tested all 3, the slowest was curl, the fastest was rapid. I did not test the pause/resume but just let them run over a number of downloads.

When downloading all 3 max out my 25M connection, the variability seems to be how quickly they can get the speed back up. As @ansonsiva has suggested, I think it is more a udemy issue, or it could just be the internet. I am testing from Brisbane, Australia.
