Mod name Concurrent Chunk Management Engine, C^2M-Engine

Curseforge link

https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/c2me-fabric

Modrinth link https://modrinth.com/mod/c2me-fabric

Other link https://github.com/YatopiaMC/C2ME-fabric

What it does "designed to improve the performance of chunk generation, I/O, and loading"

Why should it be in the modpack Faster chunk loading, claims to be compatible with Lithium

Why shouldn't it be in the modpack Very experimental and potentially dangerous

C2ME tend to have extremely unstable performance on my PC, sometimes optimizing it and sometimes causing the chunk loading to take forever. I'd recommend at least waiting for a stable version of the mod before adding it to the pack. However, the concepts of this mod and its performance (in the case that everything works well) looks promising.

In my personal experience, this mod is crucial when flying around with an elytra or doing any exploring. Without it chunks can't keep up causing my performance and HP suffer for it. I've been using it for a little over a month, and outside of some mod incompatibilities, I have had no issues with it. I strongly recommend adding this mod to FO and being cautious with future updates due to the mod being in Alpha.

the mod has been quite stable for a while now, i think it could be a good idea to add (only issue - config has really weird thread defaults and that would have to be adjusted) and is essential for elytra flight or just fast movement through chunks, i have not had any issues and it makes a pi 5 load chunks five times as fast as a ryzen 5600 so i think this would be crucial

The "main" issue is that is still in alpha, and basically all versions are dev-builds that don't receive too much testing. For example 6 months ago one of these builds caused world corruption (iirc). This mod probably works just fine with fo, but I don't feel it's up to FO standards stability-wise. Said that i use it and never caused anything major than some crashes

that's fair i suppose, it's just that it's such a major perf improvement that it would be great if it was at least suggested on the modpack page

Personally, i encountered only minor improvements, but I'm on really hi-end hardware
