This should be AlmaLinux, not RHEL.

Did they switch to AlmaLinux? When?

They don't provide such informations on their website and even when asking the reply was something like "look into wikipedia" which don't say anything relevant on the things I want to know

CloudLinux was previously based on CentOS. When the CentOS change happened, they released AlmaLinux to the community and used it as the upstream for CloudLinux. I haven't found a place where they explicitly said "CloudLinux is based on AlmaLinux", but they repeatedly promote AlmaLinux as a CentOS replacement and have a close relationship with the AlmaLinux team.

I'm quite aware of that

Would be nice to know this page https://lp.cloudlinux.com/cloudlinux-os-solo state Based on RHEL known for its reliability

After communicating with the AlmaLinux team, a member confirmed that CloudLinux is a derivative of AlmaLinux. It's likely that CloudLinux uses "based on RHEL" marketing because of RHEL's name recognition.
