UI: for Config manager; improve explanation of "Backup the Configuration" and "Restore the Configuration"
At the moment, these buttons seem a little open ended. They are also being added at the bottom of every config form page.
At the least, I believe we should add an info button to indicate that one will be backing up the config to the users own device and that they may give it their own name. It can then be recalled by name (by browsing to it) if they need to restore the specifics of this particular configuration.
Would the buttons make more sense labeled something like "Backup Configuration to your own computer" ?
I previously left this display at the bottom of each config page ... don't know if that redundancy is helpful or not.
MORE GENERALLY:
- this is just a backup of the config files
- what about Macros; what about Apps; or what about backing up the whole Profile ???
Interesting questions. I'd almost call these functions "export config" and have other buttons that do a local save independent of the live config (since it saves out on single value write with no explicit "save" action. Local save would allow you to do a save that would live on the pi, and that could be restored after temporary changes had been made (inadvertently or intentionally)
