TechReborn crashing on certain blocks (possible fix)

Open jannikac opened this issue 4 years ago • 4 comments

Opening a new issue since this is not fixed yet, although it seems to be easy to fix.

  • Modpack Version: 1.2.0

  • Issue: The game crashes after placing certain blocks, namely:

    • Diesel generator

    • Assembling machine

    • Alloy smelter

    • Thermal generator

    • Industrial centrifuge

    • (Fusion control computer) <- Could not confirm myself

  • Link to Log or Crash File Paste: See referenced issues

  • Is it Repeatable?: yes

  • Mod/s Affected: TechReborn

  • Known Fix: Update TechReborn to TechReborn-1.12.2-2.27.3.1084-universal Update RebornCore to RebornCore-1.12.2-3.19.4.529-universal

  1. Download updated mod versions from the links above
  2. Open mods folder
  3. Delete TechReborn-xxxxxx-universal.jar
  4. Delete RebornCore-xxxxxx-universal.jar
  5. Copy updated mods to mods folder

If you placed any of the above block you cannot enter you world anymore since it crashes immediately upon loading. Fix: Use MCedit or a similar tool to remove the block causing the crash.

Bump, Please update these mods in the pack, Version 1.3 pushed out today and will revert tech Reborn/core to versions that cause crashes, even though most have already updated 1.2 manually to replace these mods.

The above versions (under Known Fix) work confirmed as I have been running them since 1.2 release. Updating them also negated the need to mcedit any blocks out.

Bump as well, seeing the same issue. From my observation, the following blocks will crash the game immediately when they're placed.

  • Wire Mill
  • Alloy smelter
  • Assembling machine

This is a game breaking issue that needs to be resolved. In fact (unless you're using cheats or applying the fix yourself), it's impossible to get to Dimension X without the use of the Assembling machine.

Confirming the fix listed above works.

Seems like new issues for this problem are shooting up like mushrooms. Probably it would be a good idea to pin this issue.
