[FR] Keep / Make hide imune
Hiya folks.
Would it be possible to have a "keep" button that stops something from being hidden? Or even pops it into its own little page to look through later?
I can't call it a bookmark button since bookmark is already being used :)
Assuming by hidding, you meant discarded items;
For a while now, I've been thinking about the concept of having favourite items, but it's not an easy feature to add...
Pinned tab/items feature was added, I forgot to update this issue. The visual is still a little clunky but it should be fixed with v2.9. ( b503aa378cad542194e0b136ba96c00562583d70 - ish )
Not quite what I was after though so I will explain better!
The way I tend to go is to clear everything except something I may want to go back to later - Pinning it is okay but doesn't show me if it's gone - And having to clear the page then go into hidden items and then unhide the one thing I want, in the middle of a 3am drop is aargh.
So I guess, if something is pinned, it should not go into the hidden tab too.
I see what you mean. I'll reopen it, but there's not clear plan to add checkboxes and hide all unchecked items for example.
I think in actual use, it just being pinned and then immune from hide-all would be the easiest, and from my guess at the way you do "hide" a quick check to see if it's got a pin then not to move it into the hidden may be efficient code wise?
Well currently "pin" is really a list of favourite, or bookmark. I kind of messed up the nomenclature because Bookmarks was the Marker feature, nd then I renamed Favourite to Pinned...
... and now you'd need a different kind of pinning.
Darn. But regardless of the name (immune, sticky, frozen) my main problem with it is a design issue:
The compact toolbar is full, and already tend to take 2 lines if the ETV is too long. How do you propose we implement that?
The easiest solution would be to add a checkbox. Maybe disguise it as whatever type of toggle icon, but where?
It's getting tight - I admit :)
Maybe a little padlock icon after broadcast and before pin?
I'm not sure if this solves your problem, but . . . I've gone through a page and pinned the few items I'm interested in, then marked the rest of the page hidden (this option is in the top right and bottom right) and the pinned items stayed pinned.
