Launching from Homebrew Channel freezes at 0%

As the title says, I'm getting freezes at 0% after launching Nintendont from the Homebrew Channel. I was on version 3.x (2016 build) and am upgrading to the latest version. The in-app update fails, so I manually replace the boot.dol and meta.xml in my apps > nintendont folder. I saw an old thread that looked similar here, but it was from 2017 an the "new app" fixed the issue. I haen't changed anything on my CIOS in a very long time, but everything else in my mod works great (and restoring the old version of nintendont works again as well). Please let me know what additional info I can provide.
