lwip failure during attempt to install jarvis-bot on Ubuntu Linux LTS 16.04

Today, using apt install XXX, I installed npm and node.js on an Ubuntu machine:

$ uname -a
Linux zareason 4.4.0-62-generic #83-Ubuntu SMP Wed Jan 18 14:10:15 UTC 2017 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Following the instructions at https://www.npmjs.com/package/jarvis-bot, I then called:

npm install jarvis-bot

Examining the error output, I subsequently installed several other Ubuntu packages and re-tried the command as:

npm install --no-options jarvis-bot

Here is the output:
