"number of files to index exceeds sanity limit, bailing out"

Open ExplodingCabbage opened this issue 10 years ago • 4 comments

Somebody on Stack Overflow says:

Gave your package a shot, and it brought down Sublime pretty quickly, with tons of "number of files to index exceeds sanity limit, bailing out" in the console.

I have no idea what this means, currently.

@DanielSmedegaardBuus any details you can add would be appreciated.

Oops, sorry for the delay, hadn't noticed the notification icon on GitHub :D

I don't see myself commenting on the linked SO page, but... IIRC, I got this error because I wanted to have a Sublime project for my shell configs and a .scripts directory in $HOME, so the project root was in $HOME. I have many thousand files and folders here.

So the error message makes sense in that respect :)

How about you tell us briefly what exactly you did?

I just had that because I accidentally dragged my whole user folder inside sublime lol (took me a while to realise)
