invalid item into auction house disappears

If you decide to list your skyblock menu (or any invalid item) in the auction house, you get an error saying "You cannot auction this item" yet it still disappears and the whole selling gui turns into only glass panes and a back button.

You don't get your nether star back unless you rejoin
