Localisation files out of date on "main" branch
This is a minor issue that I picked up while testing my Python interface to libgphoto2 on the main (1.0.0) branch. The po/exiv2.pot file on the main branch was last updated 3 years ago, compared to 4 months ago on the 0.28.x branch.
Could it be automatically updated when building exiv2 (if NLS support is turned on) like the .po files are?

We haven't found a good way yet to sync translations from 0.28x branch done via Crowdin back to main w/o loosing potentially valuable comments. Please feel free to work on this, see https://github.com/Exiv2/exiv2/pull/3012 and https://github.com/Exiv2/exiv2/pull/3013
I see the problem. I'm not familiar with Crowdin, but I expect it has its own internal format which is "translated" to .po when needed, losing all comments in the .po file.
(I use weblate.org for one of my projects, which is Qt based so uses .ts files, and there are similar hard to resolve problems.)
Side note, the Crowdin translations also contains a significant amount of garbage, e.g. for the de.po:
#: src/canonmn_int.cpp:2541 src/pentaxmn_int.cpp:450
msgid "Paris"
msgstr "Arthur"
Obviously incorrect.
msgid "Post Crop Vignette Feather"
msgstr "Ernte Vignetten-Feder"
-> "Harvest Vignette Feather", when translated back to english.
