Error on inventory click in Minecraft 1.21.4

Describe the bug I created a custom inventory in 1.21.4, I can open it and fill it with custom items but when I click on an item in this inventory, I get disconnected. If they're ‘default’ items I don't have the problem though.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Create an inventory
  2. Add custom item with a custom model data which exists in your ressource pack, if it doesn't exist, a simple click will work, but a shift click won't work and you'll be disconnected No error on simple ItemStack without custom model data
  3. Interact with one
  4. Get disconnected Expected behavior A simple click/shift click on an item

Hey, thank you for reaching out. Can you please share a /give command with an actual item that this error is causing? To your second stacktrace: That's not an issue regarding custom model data. It looks like you are sending a malformed item with a minecraft:container_loot which is a whole different component type. Sending malformed data results in an exception.

Hello, so I actually switched to item_model, I stopped using custom model data from before 1.21.4 and everything works perfectly!

I recreated a give command for your tests: /give @s arrow[minecraft:custom_model_data={float:[1]}] As soon as you interact with the arrow in an inventory like a chest, here's the error that occurs:
