Invalid address alignment (SIGBUS) in swscale

Open dborel opened this issue 1 year ago • 3 comments

Anytime OpenMW tries to play a bik video, it crashes like this:

Failed to open video: Resource 'video/mw_logo.bik~' not found Changing to interior Loading cell Imperial Prison Ship

*** Fatal Error *** Invalid address alignment (signal 7) Address: 0x9fccf008

It appears to be the same issue from 4 years ago at https://gitlab.com/OpenMW/openmw/-/issues/4889, but I don't see a workaround other than disabling videos in openmw.cfg. I'm on a Pi4 with buster RetroPie. Everything is at latest. I notice the RetroPie-Extra setup script for OpenMW was updated only a year ago. How are others getting around this on RetroPie?

other then not having the files in the folder or like you said disabling the video. that's it.

maybe once i try and see about updating the software. to see if that fixed it or not. it was a annoying bug for sure

Ok, thanks. BTW, it works fine on my RPI5 if I install the (aarch64) "openmw" Raspbian package. Likely a swscale bug that was resolved somewhere between Buster and Bookworm.
