Revisiting this, it seems like [Node is still working on ES module support](https://github.com/nodejs/modules/blob/master/doc/plan-for-new-modules-implementation.md). Is anyone aware of the best practices here?

@lharress That was committed over 3 years ago, but this this report was from about 1 year ago. Are you sure that commit squashed this bug?
