Currently I cannot test this, since I don't have an 120Hz monitor.

Not having this issue atm. (Have only 2 Monitors) Did you disabled all other monitors?

Yes it is a Bug. Which version are you using? Which Mac OS Version are you using?

I have no 10.10.1 available atm. But will check this out. Maybe you could attach the systemlog? You can find it in the Console App.

Probably due to the fact that the graphics card is not fully disabled.
