Cannot connect to AWS Amazon Linux 2023

This is a critical issue as Amazon Linux 2023 is the current generation of default AWS EC2 instance types. I must find another program until the issue is fixed.

If someone can point me to the overall area of code where this might be corrected, I'm happy to take a look to see if I can fix it.
