Import to forum channel

Open Th3irdEye opened this issue 3 years ago • 3 comments

Hi there. I'm trying to import to one of the new Forum channel types. The importer doesn't seem to like the #Channel-name of that type of channel. It claims it is invalid even though it works the same as other #Channel-names. If you type it in chat and click it you are taken right to the channel.

Is there a way to use the channel ID or the channel URL instead? Or maybe the importer can be updated to accommodate the new channel type?

Hey I haven't messed with this new channel type yet, but you should already be able to use the channel ID in place of where you'd usually pass the name.

Example: !importer import "url here" <#channel id here>

Oh yeah. I see now if you enclose the channel ID in angle brackets and include a # then discord detects it just the same as it does the channel name. Unfortunately that still doesn't seem to work for the new channel type. It's still throwing an "Invalid channel, the channel you passed doesn't exist" error when I format it that way.

Well, if you get a chance to check out the new forum channels and can figure out why this isn't working for me I'd appreciate it. Then again maybe there's something fundamentally different about them that makes this impossible. Thanks!
