There should be JavaScript to parse the querystring for email=<email>, then it should insert it into the covenant as appropriate.

The CODE_OF_CONDUCT file is generally markdown so if I'm understanding your suggestion correctly I don't think that this would be possible. In addition, the email address should be a permanent part of the document, not dynamically inserted.

I'll give you a chance to clarify before I close the issue.

That would be a way to provide a link to “our CoC” without copying the text to your own project.
