Audio stops while car is in reverse mode

not a carplayenable bug, my headunit has an option to unmute audio on reverse.please check your headunit settings

In my case, YouTube audio stops while my car gear is in the reverse mode and car monitor shows back view. The issue does not happen in native apps (e.g., Apple music). I think this may be a Carplayenable bug because the same issue does not occur when using Carbridge.

I think its because the app "closes" while you're in reverse (because it's no longer on the head unit screen). So apps that stop playing when you go to the homescreen (youtube) will do this

I have YouTube premium and it does the same. Even after I put the gear back to D, the screen will come as black and the audio stops. I have to unplug the phone and plug it again to get it to work. Accord 2020 (iOS 14.3, iPhone x)

@EthanArbuckle I use youtube to play audio but the issue only happens when running the youtube on carplay screen while the car is in reverse mode. However it works fine when running youtube from iPhone.

@jly26 my headunit doesn't have an option to mute or reduce audio while car is in reverse mode.

Also audio stops when browsing the headunit as you said because the app closes, I hope there is a solution for this.

By the way I have youtube premium so it should play in the background and I noticed when I return the gear to driving mode the video continues playing it's just the audio that's been stopped and it returns a few seconds later.
