Feature request: Give widget empty space
When I'm almost starting the weekend, seeing the activities for next week on my phone is pretty annoying. If something is planned in two days, the widget should not show that, or at least should leave some empty space.
In my understanding, widgets should not call attention [1] when there is no reason. So:
- Nearby events should be brighter on the widget, while more distant events should have less opacity.
- Empty chunks should use some space on the widget, while not proportional to the time, may be with a logarithmic scale. Like a metro map scale.
- Day number can be in that empty space.
- The header should not bright that much, or use that much space, that way events that are close get the attention they deserve.
Hope you like those ideas, and also, thanks you for the great app.
[1]: (not sure about that expression)
Neat idea. I find myself in a similar situation when i have nothing planned for several days, but the next event still shows up on top.
Another way around this could be a hard limit has to how many days/hours in the future the widget would be able to display. When no event is planned in that time limit, the widget would say "No events planned for the next X days." or something along those lines. Optionally, tapping the widget would show upcoming events regardless of that limit, so you can still see future events from the widget.
Oh i see this time-frame idea was already suggested in #402 .
I would also love to see this feature. Unfortunately I'm not familiar with the technologies used here so I can't sent a PR for this
