Support for animated svg symbols

I am reporting an issue with

• [ ] TypeScript definitions
• [x] another resource in this repository

3.x had support for animated svg images. I am using 4.16 and animated svg images do not animated and show only the first frame. Is this a known issue and will it be fixed any time soon?
