Enhancement: Support for Line and Polygon Features
I have come across a future electric utility solution template use case for the geoform template. The workflow requires the user to add line features not point features. Example: A cable, fiber, telecom is looking to attach their infrastructure to utility poles. Attachers could use this application to sketch in the proposed attachments (in general between 100-150 utility poles per attachment request), complete request form, and submit.
Thanks @clareprice. We'll look into adding this but probably for a later release. I think its a good workflow but can be tricky on mobile devices.
@clareprice Would the Collector for ArcGIS meet your needs? http://doc.arcgis.com/en/collector/
@pjdohertygis The workflow outlined would be completed in the office from a web browser so collector would not be applicable. I have already completed a sample of the attachment request using this template and it is great for the long form required and a very intuitive interface for non-GIS users. Looking forward to using this more (with or without this enhancement). Thanks!

Could we chat about design ideas for polygon / polyline editing in our next meeting?

Ushahidi has a toolbar like this:
Another request for polygons and polylines from a User, this time in New Zealand.
"Polygons – Property company attempting to manage property sales events Etc. Fibre Utility – Attempting to collect information from the field regarding the trenching and laying down of fibre lines."
Hi Paul. The person from New Zealand was me (You know this via Nathan whom I meet at OZRI?).
We'd love to have another option or an extension of the Geoform to collect all 3 basic geometries. The 2 use cases above are just a small example of what we could be achieved with such a form.
In case you're looking for more use cases:
GeoForm would be perfect for a patrol debrief if points, lines, and polygons were supported.
Points: Point of Departure, Key Terrain, Point of Return, Enemy Installations Lines: Departure Route, Return Route Polygons: Enemy Observed, Enemy Encountered
Thanks for the additional use cases @nfeuerstein.
+1 for polygons GeoForms are great (easy to implement) for small historical society - need polygons to define protection AREAS for reported historic sites (like family cemeteries).
On top of this, I'd like to see support for Table Services, in which case the map div would be hidden. Sometimes I just want Collection of simple attributes with no geometry.
