More control over home/splash screen

It would be nice if the Admin had more ways to customize the Home/Splash screen; have an option to modify text (other then title and subtitle), option to pick custom icons.

If I would download the Crowdsource app, or host the app in the Portal (vs AGO), would there be more options to customize the home/splash screen?
