Req: a couple of additional settings/functions which I'd like

These would be helpful for me. It's your program so, obviously, adding them is up to you.

1. Download only files with a specific language (or undefined) - I already specify I want English. If there isn't an English audio, I don't want the file.

2. Set the file created and modified date to the posting date after the file has completed download.

yt-dlp doesn't support this. It does support using the upload date as a string which can be used in naming the file.

Use? Helps in sorting files.
