What about unloaded tabs?

Open bew opened this issue 1 year ago • 3 comments

Hello!

I've found this extension to be used on my phone where I have 100+ tabs open and wish to export them somehow.

It seems the extension only works with currently loaded tabs, could you also add support for getting unloaded tabs?

If it's not possible, I think the extension description should mention this limitation 🤔

Thanks a lot

Hey,

Does this happen only to tabs that were unloaded at the time you installed the extension, or does it happen even in later launches of the browser? I dimly recall there was one an issue with new extension installs which was a hard browser limitation (where it won't expose data for tabs that existed already at install-time unless you refresh them).

If the latter (happening across browser launches), I think this would largely be a mobile problem as that heavily unloads tabs, which would explain why it hasn't been brought up until now. I will need to find an Android phone and debug this a little. There may be something available to check those, if not I'll add a note to the description like you say. Thanks!

Edit: Also just to clarify, are you using Firefox on Android? Or some other browser that happens to support extensions?

I'm using Firefox for Android yes, at the latest stable version.

I'm talking about old tabs yes, opened (wayy) before installing the extension (which I did only a few minute ago^^)

Note that when I 'load' the tabs by going on them (easy with toolbar swipe gesture, but needs to be repeated many times), then it pops up in the list of URLs if I re-run the extension. Might be a workaround worth mentioning if there's no automatic way to get those

Thanks for the info! I'll have a look into this and see what I can do
