Calendars from Public folder not working
I moved to this version because the 1stsetup version stopped working in the latest version of Thunderbird. That version used to work fine.
In this version (both 3.2 and 3.4 beta) I found two issues which appear to only occur with calendars from the "Public folders".
First of all the calendar only update when starting Thunderbird. When you add an event it will show "Received updates from EWS server (New: 1, ...." in the status bar, but it will never show up in either the list or the calendar view until you restart Thunderbird (3.2) or force an update by clearing the cache (3.4). However, if you edit the name of a shown event, the change is visible immediately.
The "Delete event (Del)" option is greyed out. The delete option is available (and functional) in the edit window.
I've been trying older versions. The oldest that will run in the current Thunderbird is v3.3.1 RC3. This one is already broken. Worse than 3.3.2 since it won't remove deleted entries either.
I've experienced the same issue when using calendars from "public folders". When creating a new event, the event is correctly transferred to the Exchange server but not updated in thunderbird. After thunderbird restart (or deleting the cache), the event occurs.
Even in the latest version 3.4 the problem still exists. Im using thunderbird 38.3.0 (linux, Ubuntu), lightning 4.0.0.1 and Exchange EWS Provider 3.4.0.
Hi, I've got the same issue, just when using calendars form "public folders" from MS Exchange 2010. With personal calendar every ok. I've got W7 SP1, thunderbird 38.3.0, lightning 4.0.3.1 and Exchange EWS Provider 3.5.0-beta1. Sorry for my english, i'm from spain. Thanks.
I have this problem too. I can see public folders but adding them doesn't work. It just creates a copy of my main Exchange calendar.
I am hit by this problem, too.
New events created in public folders / shared calendars are updated and displayed immediately in Exchange / OWA, but not locally in Lighthing, that is until the cache gets emptied.
@bavincen Could this be somehow related to #336 and #295 ? I know that these affect the tasks functionality, but the behaviour seems very much the same? Since you said in #336 that you would fix it for tasks in the next version, could you also please look into this?
Thanks!
I tested 3.5.0 and 3.5.0-beta1 on 2 systems:
- Thunderbird 38.5.0 / Lightning 4.0.5 on Gentoo
- Thunderbird 38.4.0 / Lightning 4.0.4 on Ubuntu
I tested this again after not having used the plugin for a while. Still no change in behaviour for v3.6-beta1.
I did notice the following. I run Davmail now and when a new item is created through this plugin, davmail doesn't update either. So it appears that the creation of the item doesn't get notified at all. After restart davmail picks it up though, where this plugin will only pick it up after the cache is cleared.
FWIW, this issue still exists in v3.8.0-beta3. Subscribing to a public calendar works, but newly created entries only appear after one opens the "Exchange (EWS) Properties" dialogue and close it by clicking "Save and Reset", which seems to trigger a reload of all calender items. Deleting an entry does not work via the context menu, but by using the "Delete" button in the "Edit Event" dialogue.
This behavior (newly created events in public folders are transmitted to the server immediately and can be seen in Outlook Web Access, but are not shown in Lightning until restart/emptying cache) is still the same for me with v3.9.0.
Thunderbird is 45.8.0 Lightning is 4.7.4 OS is an up-to-date Archlinux
OWA gives me this information: Version: 14.3.319.2 Client Access server version: 14.3.123.0
