UE to Rigify - Convert modifies the animation slightly

Open TactileVisions opened this issue 1 year ago • 4 comments

  • Addon: UE to Rigify
  • Steps to Reproduce the Problem: I imported an animation for the UE 4 Male Mannequin into Blender through Send to Unreal > Picked the skeleton in the addon and clicked convert
  • OS: Windows 11
  • Addon Version: UE to Rigify 1.6.2
  • Blender Version: Blender 3.5
  • Unreal Version: Unreal 5.3

When converting the animation, it differs slightly from the original. This would be OK for less precise animations, but where 1:1 accuracy is needed, this is a problem. Is it a bug, or am I doing something wrong? How can I make the animations match perfectly?

In the screenshots below, the poses look very similar, but the one after conversion is slightly more hunched

Thanks!

I was able to stop the slight shift during conversion by creating a workspace (at the top), getting rid of all the areas except for the 3D viewport and adjusting the camera angle (ortographic view from the side - not sure if this had anything to do with it, though. I had the dope sheet open before and that seemed to slow down the conversion process and possibly cause the shift to happen

...only now I cannot move any of the controller bones. They also get these constraints added to them. Removing them still doesn't allow me to move the controller. Any ideas on how to fix this?
