@KrishnaTO it is not completely equivalent. Both terms are used. Soil moisture is expressed using volumetric water content as explained here: https://cosmos.ceh.ac.uk/measuring
I think it fits best as a subclass of #374 'Soil Water Content' and 'concentration', in which case, will have to depend on PR #1228 for adding the former. I'll create this class with reference, and will document to be sure of consistency.
It seems the term has not been created. Closing the issue for now. Might re-open it if the term if asked again by the community.
