Storage drawers going into the negative.

I don't think items are supposed to go into the negative. The setup is a drawer controller attached to an array of drawers. This drawer controller is linked as an entangled block eslewhere in the base. This entangled block has an external storage attached as well as a pretty pipe on low priority to shuck things in from other automations. (Kind of a carry over from the PP to RS switch).
I have no idea how to duplicate directly as I only just noticed it tonight and have no idea how long it's been an issue. It happened with sand blocks too in a 1x1 drawer. Both items happen to originate in pretty pipe segments, however they both have void upgrades and I've noticed that pipes won't insert into them directly as a result. All of these items get shoved into RS before going back out on the priority external storage
Seems to be affecting saplings too. This would be another one that starts with pipes, filters into RS and then into external storage. Apples come from the same farm, but maybe they don't get requested as often so it hasn't happened to them?
I did manage to reset the sand to a positive number by manually clicking in a few stacks to get it above 0. Requesting sand to be crafted by the RS system (gravel into a pulverizer) would cause the negative number to retreat toward 0 but once it hit 0 it bounced back to a negative number again ( I want to say it was -71, but each drawer has been different).
