What kind of BGM, by the way?

Is it the Launcher's own BGM that always plays as long as the launcher is open? or is it app-specific BGM?

Apps can have it's own BGM as customization when you hover over them in the launcher, only if you can "hack" the file system[^1] or use the "Install Package Files" feature which require CrossLauncher XPKG package file which is currently no one is making or publishing except me, I can make you one if you supplies the required files. More about this here

[^1]: Actually what you should do is just put some files in Android/data/id.psw.vshlauncher/ folder, but lately Android would get mad at you if you do this

Sorry for not being specific enough. I mean like, menu bgm. (That plays as long as the launcher's open) I know you can set the app's music when you hover over them. (This feature is nice.) So, not that, but music in the background of the launcher, like if you were to go into the launcher's files and put an mp3 or an ogg file somewhere, or if you could simply go into the sound settings and set a custom bgm.

Ok, it seems this was implemented in an Action Build, sorry, may I ask as how to put the launcher bgm?

Two ways :

  • By picking the file using the Settings > Audio Settings > Pick Menu Music File option
  • Copying a file named menu_bgm.bin to :
    • (Storage)/Android/data/id.psw.vshlauncher.dexfw/files/dev_flash/vsh/resource
    • (Storage)/Android/media/id.psw.vshlauncher.dexfw/files/dev_flash/vsh/resource named This way requires launcher restart. supports any format your device natively supports, commonly mp3, ogg, aac, wav and midi (most may also supports opus and flac)

To remove, the option is in the same sub-menu. or just delete the file, both works the same.

I intended to put the tutorial for this to wiki page once it is in the stable release.

Is there a way to make the menu bgm fade in/out when switching between menu bgm and the game/apps music in the launcher?
