Auto-updater toggle option needed

My server has a poor Internet connection to GitHub, thus errors concerning auto updaters often occurs. It will be great if you could offer an option to toggle off the auto update checker.

reproducible. After this error the plugin does not work.

Same problem. Why hasn't the option to turn off automatic updates been added after a year? Or prevent plugin loading failure in case of automatic update failure
