Investigate better font scaling for terminal item numbers again

I had to remove the scaling at some point because it became incredibly difficult to apply custom scaling due to font renderer changes. Someone in the Discord is using a custom font with way wider numbers though, and it looks awful in the terminal (see https://discord.com/channels/181435613147430913/253633464342020096/1349702464198279248)
