Login to Website using Google Login Failing

Open jsrose09 opened this issue 2 years ago • 5 comments

I am attempting to login to Pathbuilder2e with my Google account. I have logged into Google using another Custom Frame in the Obsidian Vault and my email appears in the Pathbuilder2e login button but clicking it doesn't load anything. image

Hi! If you're using iframe mode, please switch to webview mode and try again. If you're using webview mode, please try switching to iframe mode.

This issue also seems similar to #40 and #76, both of which have some additional info and links to other, similar issues and possible solutions.

Let me know how it goes!

I have tried both webview and iframe. When in Webview mode, nothing happens when I click the link to login. When in iframe mode the link launches a window in my Chrome Browser but hangs on a blank page in Chrome without doing anything to log in. Unlike issue 76, this is not in a Canvas page, just a regular note. It does seem similar to the issues of popups and links opening new windows. I am assuming that when the iframe opens the login link in my Chrome that Chrome is then unable to pass the authentication information into the Obsidian Custom Frame.

More interesting is that the "login with Reddit" link seems to work in the Custom Frame but that's not how I log into my account. Not sure why that works but the google doesn't. As of right now I can't seem to get it to work.

I'm experiencing the same issue with DnDBeyond. I created a temporary Frame with the link to the Google Login, but it is not loading in Obsidian.
