Hi and thanks in advance!

STILL having the following issue...

Using the Sweet Dark v40 from here https://www.gnome-look.org/p/1253385 (downloaded fresh again today)

Having all the latest system & apps updates.

Using Firefox 140.0 64-bit on CachyOS Gnome 48 Wayland Firefox's "Profile Manager" works with the theme

Image

"About Mozilla Firefox" works with the theme

Image

Close, min, max buttons DO NOT work with the theme

Image

Have tried the Gnome Tweaks. Have tried the libadwaita-tc.py. Have tried the sudo commands that you provided to me and others in other threads. Nothing worked so far.

Once again thanks for everything. Have a nice rest of the day.

Firefox's title bar buttons may be reset to Windows style. To avoid this, open the advanced preferences (about:config) and set widget.gtk.non-native-titlebar-buttons.enabled to false. (Thanks to @anselstetter)

Thank you for your reply. Not a solution it seems in my case.

I did it to all of the profiles that I use. I restarted the computer(s). Problem still remain.

Just to confirm, did you actually apply a GTK theme?

zsd2024 avatar Jun 27 '25 11:06 zsd2024

I've noticed that when I change the global theme in Plasma, there doesn't seem to be any effect, but when I switch the GTK theme, the changes are applied right away.

Thank you for your time and effort. If the information that I provided here https://github.com/EliverLara/Sweet/issues/296#issue-3177902556 isn't sufficient then I don't know what else to say. In the images you can see that on same app/profile it has parts of it that the theme has been applied but not to the "main" windows.

Here's a screenshot: this is what it looks like when I only switch to the Plasma theme.

And here's the result after switching the GTK theme:

As it says on the linked post and on this thread title, I am on CachyOS, Gnome 48 on Wayland with all the latest system updates with Firefox using its default system theme set on auto.

Would you mind opening the 'Configure GNOME/GTK Application Style...' button on the Application Style page and sending me a screenshot?

Excuse my ignorance. Where do I find this?

You can find it in the Global Theme section.

You do realize that I am using Gnome and not KDE, right? If there is a Global Theme section somewhere in Gnome 48 please let me know where.

I apologize for the misunderstanding earlier. It appears that you've modified the Qt theme, but the GTK theme remains unchanged.

If I'm not mistaken, CachyOS typically comes with KDE as its default desktop environment.

It does if you will not "tell" it otherwise which I did and hence my Gnome usage ;) I run the KDE version inside a VM though :P

So how did you install the theme?

Hi again. I hope that you are not trolling me but in any case here it is! As I said on the very first post of this thread: https://github.com/EliverLara/Sweet/issues/296#issue-3177902556

Have tried the Gnome Tweaks. Have tried the libadwaita-tc.py. Have tried the sudo commands that you provided to me and others in other threads. Nothing worked so far.

Basically, I have done those things to all of our systems running CachyOS and EndeavourOS and this issue persists. Of course it is not a deal breaker but still would like to solve this issue :-(

If you don't mind, could you please share a screenshot of your GTK theme settings page?
