Rules you should follow if you want to request something

Open ChiSys opened this issue 7 years ago • 7 comments

After reading a lot request of impossible things or stupidly thrown in request I decided to clarify some things. Many post are about fps increasements which never happen or threads are cluttered with posts of a few with always the same arguments and beggings. Thats not the way it should be. The autor is doing a great work and some people doesn't understand how frustrating it is to read those threads and request even as an user / tester only. I dont want to blame anyone but please understand we are getting great stuff for free.

Things you should to do before posting a request are:

  • do a little research of the game you want to request like how is the game running ect. If a game barely reaches a stable framerate don't ask for fps mods that is not possible

  • are there known versions for other systems with higher framerate or higher resolution which might hint a posibility (only usefull when the game runs stable)

  • search for the game you want to request on the issues tab first before double posting a request

  • make sure the game wasn't requested before and the request isn't closed

Rules you should follow within a thread

  • Act like an adult not like a kiddie

  • Dont make double or tripple post thats annoying

  • After requesting be patient and wait for response

For a better organization mark all requests by starting with "[REQUEST]" in the title and provide the game name , version(s) and what you request.

exg.: [REQUEST] Legend of Heroes: Trails of Coldsteel (PCSB-00866 ; PCSE00786) - resolution hack.

. . . I'm german so please forgive me my poor english. Have a nice day.

There is only one rule, and that is that there are no rules. You can make 100 of these, but people will still post.

If you ask me, some people here should have a bit decency and bother to actually ANSWER and talk with respect and normally with ones that don't understand the matter when asked what they don't like or annoys them, or not answer.

You don't really need rules, just basic human conversation and respect.

If you ask me, you should be better of making a template how answers should look and add something like: "If you have any other questions please feel free to be curious and ask your friendly neighbor spider-man."

You know, a little friendlier environment... but hey, you can always make more Rules, right?! :)

@gittyno1 This isnt social media. This is GitHub. It's for the further development of a piece of software or plugin, and it's a communal effort. Issues aren't meant to be used without prior effort, and every issue should be made with real purpose. Asking asinine questions that don't make any sense to anyone who knows a slight bit about how games perform wastes time that is far better spent on developing the plugin. Keep low quality questions without research to places like Reddit where people can accommodate.

I know you want this to be a friendlier place, but you're by far one of the rudest people on this project. Even you most recent "issue" reeks of entitlement.

There are rules for everything and that's a good thing. Just as well there are unwritten laws as one has to behave on the Internet and especially in the homebrew/dev scene. There are countless of canceled projects in the scene and only because there are people who doesn't respect this.

This gyttino1 kiddo is a complete self entitled spoiled brat who probably has never had a proper job in its entire life. If you slap a teenage prat like him, you will probably end up with a shirt full of liquid manure stains. SJW idiot.

What we could do is a topic just to test the latest build.
