In addition to the 4 valid sides a signal button can output, there should also be a direction which sends a cable outside of the back of the existing block, and behind it allowing you to cleanly wire a signal button.

Right now you're pretty much forced to use a wireless button in these cases, and it feels just a little bit weird to have to use wireless when two cables are only separated by a single wall.
