MicroResistance Megathread
This thread is dedicated to discussion of D:cableRsFactor=0.001 or as it will be known as from here: MicroResistance. Setting the resistance factor to such a low number effectively zeros out all cable resistance. This may cause regressive behavior, but I would like for it to become a supported feature, so all those who use the config I would like any input on things that 'go wrong' or otherwise break gameplay.
Notable finds:
ELN exporters seem to work more efficiently when a resistor is placed before them. This is likely due to the extremely low resistance values causing the voltage to sag far more than intended.
Utility Poles appear to have an insanely high capacitance after reducing the resistance, to the point it can take minutes to fill up a double pole network. This should be looked into as it's very likely to clarify why the T2 transformer has so much capacitance. It appears that this is the case for all DC converters, where a tiny bit of capacitance is being multiplied for some reason due to the low resistance.
Did you know?:
Converters can be either set to isolated or nonisolated mode. The nonisolated mode is easier to handle, because it doesn't require less processing power, but sometimes you need to isolate the networks. Isolated mode introduces capacitances. The HV converters ale locked in isolated mode. If you look closely at the model HV dc/dc converter/ you'll see capacitors and an isolating transformer :)
