[FR] Giant FANS in ELN!

Open OmegaHaxors opened this issue 7 years ago • 11 comments

So i'm playing around in Minecraft and my wind turbines are blowing like crazy and I ask myself "I wonder what happens if you put a negative voltage to a turbine" well then I figured I'd test it out and make FANS. FANS! But some LUNATIC didn't make turbines spin all over the place and I can't leave them running.

Look at that! Look at that bug! It's causing these problems! Fans! I simply cannot believe somebody would do that. How irresponsible are we? Think about the amount of electricity we're wasting not letting fans spin up like this. And for what? I can't blow air around. It makes no sense.

This is Electrical Age we shouldn't be wasting our dev time oversights like this fans not running for any point in the day and to do what. Can you imagine how much this is eroding the game experience? Think of all the dirt blocks that are around. All because some genius can't let us have giant fans... And look, they're everywhere; absolutely everywhere. Listen to the wind they cause. Listen... ... ... There wasn't any noise because they don't work like that. And again, how much electricity is being wasted.

It's time to throw all the devs outta the git and put people like me in charge. ... Still no noise due to the fan. Put people like me in charge and this mod would be better; again this is Electrical Age we can do better.

Giant fans... Not even able to make wind... Look at that thing... Look at that!

@OmegaHaxors That was funny! What's going on with the developers anyway? They have not been active at all.

They're working hard on getting it to the latest version of Minecraft. From what I've heard it's been surprisingly difficult but I think it's just about done. Something to do with rendering likely.

developers? Dissaperaed? Got shredded across time and space? Nobody knows...

@AMIDIBOSS Aren't you one of the developers though? Shouldn't you have contact with them? :octocat:

I'm not officialy in ELN group (No write access), Neither can i contact any of them for whatever reason...

@AMIDIBOSS You can make changes in a repository forked from EA and then you send a pull request in order to integrate the changes into the main repository. Even developers with direct access to the repo use that workflow (git flow) to be able to review the changes before they are integrated.

Contacting us is simple too: https://electrical-age.net/contact/ or mention @Electrical-Age/devs in a comment here.

@AMIDIBOSS Ok.

So, uh... anyway, small fans that push items around would be a good addition. I'm declaring this to be the bug for that. :P

It's a joke post referencing how wind turbines don't spin up when they sink power, and instead stay put. I figured it would be funny if they would act like giant fans in that situation and remembered an old video this guy did about how "giant fans" were kicking up wind in his county; making a joke about correlative ignorance.

As amusing as that would be, I don't think I've seen any windmills ever that would do that, although... hum.

That would be because they contain diodes and stuff. And I do want to minimize the magic block-ness of everything. :D

Fans. Check.
