Try unticking 'Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device' under your mic settings. https://vgy.me/07XsMz.png
I have exclusive mode off, automatic gain control off in Halo Online and on Discord and any program that uses my mic, still happening. Only happens when I go online on Halo Online either opening my own server or opening server browser then if i make a loud noise it will turn my mic down.
Same issue. I've got the Audio Technica AT2020+... Unsure if that's important. Turned off automatic gain control and virtually every possible option giving applications any control over my microphone volume. Even turned voip off completely. Same issue. ElDewrito is the only app that does this. Didn't have an issue on prior builds.
I figured out what's causing this issue, and a possible explanation for why it only affects certain people. If you make any adjustments to settings and apply the changes, the mic volume is adjusted as if automatic gain control is enabled (even if it's disabled in the config) until you restart the game. I was constantly adjusting voice settings trying to fix it, and could never just leave the menus alone. :P
So, set everything how you like, restart the game, and don't touch the settings menu again. Editing and applying keybinds and customizing my Spartan didn't seem to trigger volume adjustment for me, so it seems to be just the main settings menu.
