Images not always showing
If somebody sends an image, while you are in an active conversation, you don't receive that image (not even a notification). Only if you get images in offline messages, they are shown at the next login.
Did that happen to others too? Any solution?
That's odd, they come through for me at the time.
You're not using the Conversation Colours plugin (which an interfere with images), are you?
If not, are you able to get a debug log (Help->Debug Window) as it happens to see if we can track down why it's happening?
I don't get images either. No notification or anything. I have to open the regular client to see them after I realize I've missed one.
@cbenard a debug log from you would be really helpful too
How do I gather that log? There's nothing in the readme. I am running the debug DLL. Edit: Just saw the Help->Debug Window from comment above. When I turned that on and requested a photo, it worked that time and displayed inline. Odd. I don't think I'll run with it open 24/7. Is there a way to get just your plugin to log to a file?
You can get Pidgin to log to a file with https://developer.pidgin.im/wiki/TipsForBugReports#ObtainingaDebugLog
How do I gather that log?
Help -> Debug Window.
Well, it looks like that it is working for me now too. I can't reproduce it anymore... But I am absolutely sure, that it wasn't working the last days. And no, I am not using the Conversation Colours plugin.
@d3str0y3r I think it was Microsoft SkypeWeb bug and now they fixed it.
SkypeWeb Plugin: Thanks EionRobb for this awesome plugin! I'm having a similar problem, If I send an image with Firefox and SkypeWeb it shows the thumbnail in chat, while if someone sends me a picture it only shows me the link "Click here to view full version" twice. I disabled all plugins to see if it could have been due to them, but no change. Images don't show on next login.
More details: the 2 links point to two different places, one to Api.asm.skype.com, the other to eus1-api.asm.skype.com
Just had this happen with skypeweb 1.2.2. I just got two "Click here to view full version" messages, for what was apparently a single image sent. It was a small PNG image.
I tried to get some logs, I replaced the Other username and removed the Tokens for safety. Seems that the redirections work fine, but the image doesn't display. Purple-facebook displays images just fine, for instance. Hope this helps. debug.zip
