Group Chats and each message creating a new thread

A co-worker of mine pointed out each time I posted in a room group chat it created a new thread. I confirmed as well with some testing using the web interface.

Hm... I'm not seeing that, but I'm only using the consumer version of Google Chat, rather than in a Workspace. Would you be able to provide a screenshot?

Alternatively, would you be able to invite me into a group chat where it's happening so that I'm able to see what the differences are in message types that might cause that to happen, and to work out a workaround for it?

Oh! Just had a thought, maybe it's the difference between "Group Chats" and "Spaces"?

I see this specifically in "Spaces".
