I get this message since last night. Haven't changed anything, that I know of. Debug log:

I also have this problem and cannot connect to steam chat. Something must have changed on Steam's side.

Can confirm, my logs indicate that this must've happened after the most recent Steam maintenance.

Broken since two days ago. This is not only this steam plugin but also other projects have this problem since a steam maintenance a few days ago.
