IT Operations: weird answers
Hello,
here are some weird answers I encountered preparing for the "IT Operations" quiz:
- Q18: one needs a keyboard to type a Bluetooth passcode - I've only encountered them with keyboards, can it exists for mice or headsets?
- Q20: a drive is some hardware that does R/W operations, and you put a media inside (floppy disk, CD, etc.).
- Q31: one uses a switch to make computers communicate on a LAN, not a server.
- Q43: if you move data and programs, it's not just a profile transfer, but a migration.
- Q51: to access the full range of keys on limited keyboard layouts, you use the Fn key, not Alt/Option (also there is a typo in the question).
- Q52: if one's computer boots in safe mode, one investigates, restarting won't usually fix the problem (see Q66 for coherence).
Pings: @asahiocean.
I can write the PR if these new answers are accepted.
Cheers, and thanks for this project!
Hello @jpleboeuf , thank you for submitting an issue! 👍 We highly appreciate it if you work on it as well.
Q18 because a mouse and keyboard can have a pin the answer all of these answers is correct. reference: apple magic mouse Q20 obviously not correct (if i feel cute i might add correct answer later) Q31 is layer 2 switch Q43 migration reference Q51 Fn obviously (typo is assists with aSSSists) Q52it doesnt say wheter the sytem has been already restarted and keeps doing it, if you google the problem it almost always says if it keeps starting in save mode, therefor once restarting the system to check if it keeps doing it is the right solution, sins it can save you a lot of time and can only lose you 15 sec for a quick reboot
Hi, @101br03k, thanks for these details.
- Q18: interesting, I did not know about Bluetooth default passcodes.
- Q52: agree.
Ok, I'm currently preparing the PR, and had to read again Q18: they ask for the most likely peripheral: mice and headsets requesting a passcode are the exception, isn't it?
I wrote the pull request - #3906.
The correct answer to Q18 being still open, I didn't include it. I think that the most likely peripheral is a keyboard: Even if some peripherals have default Bluetooth passcodes, or even spoken Bluetooth passcodes, Bluetooth passcodes are most commonly encountered with keyboards. For example, Logitech Bluetooth keyboards have a passcode, not their mice. On Chinese products, passcodes are a disappearing feature, even with keyboards.
If this PR stays open, is it possible to be added to the assignees, @Ebazhanov?
Cheers!
@malcata can you please take a look it is regarding your changes in https://github.com/Ebazhanov/linkedin-skill-assessments-quizzes/pull/4011, thanks
Gents @jpleboeuf , @101br03k kindly update your answers in the repository so we can close this issue. Many thanks!
@monkrus: The original discussion about Bluetooth is still open, and we need to know if we have to revert the changes related to the IT Operations quiz introduced in #4011.
Or I can update the Q&A with a reference to this issue, kindly asking contributors wanting to change these answers to first check the discussions in this issue before.
@jpleboeuf Great, since it is still an open discussion, let`s wait until we know the answer.
