Loading save files for some games with title graphic disabled tends to crash.
Name of the game:
Mother: Cognitive Dissonance 2.XX mod
Player platform:
Windows, Lightly tested on android.

Describe the issue in detail and how to reproduce it:
Most, but not all of the time, with the title graphic set to disabled, the player tends to crash when trying to load a save from the title screen on first boot. This seems to persist until the game is saved somewhere, at which point behavior seemingly returns to normal in my experience, though with how inconsistent anything I've found to prevent crashes seems to be, I am unsure of if it's a rule or if it's just a pattern.
This issue seems to not exist when the game is set to use the title graphic. I'm unsure of why, but that seems to sidestep the issue entirely. Apologies if this report is a little bit hard to work with.
Crash seems to happen on android as well, didn't do much testing beyond checking if it was on platforms other than windows (this was done on the stable build for android, but it's still an issue on continuous on windows.)
METHOD 1
- Just try to open any save from the title screen, really. Usually it will crash. Should be doable with the save included in the download.
METHOD 2
- Create a new save file, doesn't seem to matter how. Quickest way is to just rush through the start of the game until you get to the garden, open the present with a green ribbon to get a fuzzy frog, then use the item to save.
- Exit to title screen and close the game. In my testing, if you try loading without closing at this point, the game doesn't crash.
- Reopen the game, immediately attempt to load a save file. Game usually crashes. Sometimes this seems not to happen, though? I've not tracked down a consistent way to avoid it.
Thanks for the report.
The crash is caused by a battle animation targeting an event on the title screen. The animation briefly continues after loading the savegame, accessing a deleted event.
Will submit a fix soon.
