Vibrancy seems to permanently corrupt latest VSCode

Open github-account1111 opened this issue 3 years ago • 3 comments

Upon updating to 1.54.3, if I enable Vibrancy and restart, I immediately get a pop-up saying Your Code installation appears to be corrupt. Please reinstall. Disabling Vibrancy doesn't fix the error. Downloading a new 1.54.3 zip and copying the data folder (without enabling Vibrancy) fixes it though (but obviously that also means I can't use vibrancy).

Edit: Worth noting that Vibrancy is working (despite the warning pop-up).

As a workaround for now use this extension and VS Code should be back to normal after it: https://marketplace.visualstudio.com/items?itemName=lehni.vscode-fix-checksums

Does this let you use Vibrancy without the warning popup / Unsupported header?

@github-account1111 Yes it does, without having to reinstall it. It just fixes the issue that sends VS Code on this condition and it fixes that reverting it back but nothing of what you have applied to it is removed.
