I found wxHexEditor very very good. Thanks a lot! I could not donate because paypal reports that "this user is currently unable to receive money."

Hi @quadra7677 Thank you for your compliments over wxHexEditor. It's really ... basic and full of bugs but I like it also :D

Yes, my country is blocked PayPal. So I could not accept donations via PayPal over 4-5 years. I only accept donations via crypto. I also recenty open a patreon account might be useful.

You probably use old version. At git trunk, donation menu open page over here. http://wiki.wxhexeditor.org/index.php?title=Donation

Too bad PayPal is blocked in your country. I wanted to buy you a beer. Patreon is cumbersome for a one-time donation.

Yeah I will delete that donation section and patreon :D Recent 2 years I became a millionaire. Not need money anymore. But of course you can still donate to wxHexEditor by advertising it. :+1:

I am happy to read that you are doing well. I think that your application is the single most underrated software in the free and open source landscape. There is HxD but it is non-free and Windows-only. I found no other free and open source tool like wxHexEditor that packs so many useful features in such a simple and pleasant user interface.

I suggested wxHexEditor to people in real life and I have added it to the Arch Wiki besides mentioning it in various posts back when I was on reddit. I have always wanted to add wxHexEditor to this Wikipedia page, but I need to figure out whether some of the features in the comparison chart apply to your tool.

Indeed I add wxHexEditor into that list but... Someone looks like not like it and removed.

https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Comparison_of_hex_editors&oldid=792880258 Might be you want to look from that version of wikipedia.

Looks like it was removed cause the person saw it as a non-relevant hex editor (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Comparison_of_hex_editors&diff=prev&oldid=793906268). That can be discussed I think and well, even https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/X86_Disassembly/Analysis_Tools mentions it as a hex editor, so it is of relevance in my personal opinion. (More than some other entries already in the table anyways.) I would say that adding it to the list should be tried again. If the next release isn't too far away, maybe wait until then to get that shiny 2023 or 2024 update year in the table.

What could also help is creating a general Wikipedia entry about the hex editor first.

Just willing to debug current issues and make a release. I try to make it under 2023
