I would love to see "Sync Privacy Badger settings" through Firefox Sync
Sorry, I accidentally hit enter while originally filling this bug-report. I realize now, after writing a way too long story of what happened before the Privacy Badger got reset, that I actually simply, just would love to see...
tl;dr: ...Privacy Badger settings being syncable through Firefox Sync.
Optionally read further; not a must...
The below, new original issue, is just for optionally checking out the weak specs of my four yo laptop: Sorry, this is probably too edge case/narrow a bug:
My whole computer (running Windows 7) just crashed after telling me "Microsft Windows", the process is not responding. I turned the laptop off by holding the power button down.
I booted my computer, started Mozilla Firefox (v43.0.3), when I for once was met with about:sessionrestore
(that'd be a Firefox bug).
I started a new session, closed the browser, and open it up again (OCD). After browsing around the Internet (specifically Kickstarter), I noticed web page element appearing that I had manually made yellow (i.e. making PB block cookies).
Basically every custom rule in Privacy Bagder had been reset, after system crash.
Here some of my systems' specs that might be relevant (loosely translate from Danish; also, I'm not good at hardware): System: Windows 7 Home Premium 4 GB RAM 64 bit system
Browser: Mozilla Firefox (v43.0.3) with the following notable add-ons:
- Adblock Plus (for Firefox) (version 2.7)
- Element Hiding Helper for Adblock Plus (version 1.3.5)
- Privacy Badger (version 1.0.5)
- HTTPS Everywhere (version 5.1.2)
I agree that this would be an excellent feature for us to support. I think that the proper way to do this is to keep relying on a local nonsycned data store but allow the user to check a setting in privacy badger which will then copy the data to the firefox synced data store. I don't think we should do any of this work though until #208 is fixed.
I second this very much. For people who uses FF Sync, and given the way privacy badger works ATM (default green), sync'ing user settings would prevent several mental breakdowns =)
This feature would be great! I use FF on several devices and would also love to see the different privacy badgers to learn together. I am not sure if the op feature request only refers to the custom rules to be synchronized or also the learned heuristics?
