Option to move the slider to yellow automatically on all cookies in Privacy Badger

Surely an option must be included in future versions of Privacy Badger that a user, if they wish, can block all cookies (move the slider to yellow) automatically as a web page is opened? Currently this is only available by doing it manually after the web page has loaded.

Remember that a lot of the "Green" cookies by Privacy Badger are classed as "invisible". They shouldn't be there really. So instead of finding out later on that a certain potential tracker has followed a user across various websites, why not nip it in the bud and block the cookies straight away? By moving the slider to yellow on trackers automatically, the web page will still work.

I understand some may not want to do, or see the point in, this, fair enough, but surely for those that do want to block (move the slider to yellow) all cookies, an option (and a choice) should be provided.

Also, if invisible trackers are manually moved to yellow on the slider, if Privacy Badger finds a serious issue with one or more of them, can it change the tracker to red, as in block the domain totally, or does the user now have to do this as they changed the initial slider from green to yellow?

seems reasonable to me

How about if we have one small slider button: Slide front to block all cookies on page, slide back to get back to original configuration. Another proposal would be to make these(in image) click sensitive. So that when clicked all are allowed/blocked/cookies blocked but then there has to be a corresponding reset mechanism too. options

Hello all. I agree with original cypherpunk's post, as well as cooperq's short but to the point post and nextLane's post, so I would like to add my back-up to this suggestion as well.

What I would like to see though for Privacy Badger is the "green" slider taken away. Any invisible trackers Privacy Badger encounters on a web page should be made "yellow" straight away, changing to "red" further down the line if deemed necessary.

I don't want Privacy Badger to wait to see if these invisible trackers ignore it's "Do Not Track" signal and follow me (and others) across a few websites before deciding to block the cookies or domain. By then it may be too late and private data and search details may have been sent to the original tracker creator or other parties.

Also, I've been told if a user changes the slider settings manually, say to "yellow", then Privacy Badger cannot change them (say to "red" for domains who ignore the "Do Not Track" signal and follow the user) later on. This is another improvement for Privacy Badger that should be created to increase privacy.

Creating this suggestion or the original one above to have an option to block all cookies straight away in the next update of Privacy Badger would greatly increase privacy for the user.

If you have any influence on this at all cooperq, any chance of implementing these suggestions in further updates of Privacy Badger? Many thanks.

I would want to think through more the idea of making the image click sensetive. It seems like there are a number of ways things could go wrong with that. I think that for starters having an option in the settings page that makes things cookieblocked by default would be a good way to go. The effect of this would be that if a tracker would be 'noaction (green)' it would be marked as 'cookieblock' instead.

as to the second suggestion, I never want privacy badger to change a users manual settings. I think that would just lead to confusion and frustration. I am also against cookieblocking everything by default, I think that should be behavior a user turns on. The reason is that many things are not actually tracking you and shouldn't be punished if they are not. Also I suspect that this feature will break things and I do not want to do that for most users.

I think there should be a global option for the "default" slider level. That is, if the user wants, he should be allowed to set the default to red on anything new, and then manually change it to whatever in a second moment. Or yellow. Defaulting to green seems very constraining to me, in addition to being very labor intensive for the user. In principle i would for example rather default to yellow or red, and just release those switches which makes the page unusable.
