Number of cases and controls not being populated

Are the columns “NUMBER OF CASES”, “NUMBER OF CONTROLS” manually filled? Because however the initial sample description and replication sample description are filled, but the parsed out fields are null [4]. We use a function to parse out these values but I would love to phase out this logic.

Note, we need to consider the impact on old studies that were not curated through the deposition app, and make sure it is not confusing to users.
