@thorntonpe and @dmricciuto, This is a draft PR with documentation on plant respiration and CNP pools at an early draft stage. Major revisions will likely be required before the documents are complete and thorough.

While documenting the plant respiration, I noticed that leaf maintenance respiration ($F^C_{mr,leaf}$) was estimated as described in Equation 1. However, this differs from the method used for maintenance respiration estimation for the livestem and live coarse root, as described in Ryan (1991). What is the source of leaf maintenance respiration methodology currently used in ELM?
